纳什（1567-1601），伊丽莎白时期“大学才子”之一，作品有传奇小说《杰克。威尔顿》（The Life of Jack Wilton）等。

    《春》一诗选自纳什为宫廷娱乐所作的喜剧《维尔。塞默的遗言》（Will Summer's Testament），韵律主要是五步扬格，韵式是aaab，cccb，dddb三节最后一行是叠句（refrain）；每节中除末一行外，其他三行都用腹韵（leonine rhyme），即第二音步的第二个词同第五音步末尾的词协韵。

    Spring， the sweet Spring， is the year's pleasant king；Then blooms each thing， then maids dance in a ring，Cold doth not sting， the pretty birds do sing，Cuckoo， jug-jug， pu-we， to-witta-woo！

    The palm and may make country houses gay，Lambs frisk and play， the shepherds pipe all day，And we hear aye birds tune this merry lay，Cuckoo， jug-jug， pu-we， to-witta-woo！

    The fields breathe sweet， the daisies kiss our feet，Young lovers meet， old wives a-sunning sit，In every street theses tunes our ears do greet，Cuckoo， jug-jug， pu-we， to-witta-woo！

    榆柳呀山楂，打扮着田舍人家，羊羔嬉游，牧笛儿整日价吹奏，百鸟总在和鸣，一片悠扬声韵，啁啁，啾啾，哥哥，割麦、插一禾！

    郊原荡漾香风，雏菊吻人脚踵，情侣作对成双，老妪坐晒阳光，走向任何通衢，都有歌声悦耳，啁啁，啾啾，哥哥，割麦、插一禾！
