What do you drink first thing in the morning? If it doesn't involve water and a lemon you might be missing out on some pretty fantastic benefits for your health. "Drinking water with lemon anytime of the day can help you get and keep better health," registered dietitian Ashley Koff, RD, told INSIDER.

Since you've gone roughly eight hours overnight without eating or drinking, your gastrointestinal tract is like a clean slate.
