說明︰此句型意為“…是事實，但…”。but 前後所連接的部分或<子句>意義相反或成為對比。本<句型>與 though <子句>所表現的意思完全相同。也可用“Indeed (that) ..., but ...”。

說明︰用在 no one，none，nobody，nothing，all，every，以及 who，what 等疑問詞之後的 but 的含義是“除…而外”，是<連接詞>，後接的<代名詞>可用主格或受格。
No one replied but me. 除我而外沒有人回答。
Nobody was late but you and me. 除了你我而外，沒有人遲到。
