The return of Yao Ming led China to stun visiting Iceland 89-51 in a friendly match between their national teams in Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi province.

Yao, playing his first match for China since he recovered from an ankle injury, shepherded the team to a 12-4 advance during the first quarter. The Chinese team extended their advance to 49-27 after the first half, and ended the match with 38-point margin. Yao Ming scored the game-high 19 points and had nine rounds. Zhu Fangyu had 16 points, while Du Feng and Mo Ke each added nine.
China will play another friendly match against Iceland on Tuesday in Harbin.
