Chang Jung-Lin of Chinese Taipei made a sweet comeback from a three-year absence by clinching the crown at the Guinness 9-Ball Tour's Jakarta leg opener on Sunday.

Chang romped to a convincing 11-5 victory over Lee Van Corteza of the Philippines in the final round, English daily The Jakarta Post reported Monday.

"I'm happy I won the leg because it's my maiden play after three years off competition," the 22-year-old was quoted as saying.

The win paid off his defeat to Filipino ace Francisco Bustamante in the Philippine leg's qualifying round in 2005.

Chang made a convincing 2-0 lead, extending it further to 10-5 with no chances for Van Corteza, the 2006 All Japan champion, who has been dubbed "Predator".

During the final, Van Corteza, the 2005 SEA Games gold medalist, unintentionally touched another ball with the tip of his short sleeve while Chang still had a 7-4 lead. This incident prompted the referee to award the turn to Chang, who successfully took advantage of Corteza's unforced error.

In the last rack, Chang wrapped up the game with flair after he sent the 9 ball rolling nicely into the pocket in the chase of the 5 ball, to give him the winner's purse of 15,000 US dollars
