King Wu went on a trip to view the beautiful mountain scenery in his domain. Led by the stately honor guards, King Wu climbed up a mountain peak.

The monkeys in the mountain were scared away by King Wu's attendants, except for a big monkey who didn't show the least sign of fear.

To show its bravery, the monkey showed off its smartness and dexterity by every means, it stuck out its paw to seize the arrow shot at it by King Wu and brandishing. Upon seeing this, the King because furious, and with a wave of his hand, the attendants around him shot all together. It was hard for the monkey to dodge the arrows, and eventually, struck by arrows; it died, clinging to a tree.

山上的猴子被吴王的随从吓得四处逃窜，唯有一只大个儿的猴子却好不畏惧。

为了显示自己的勇敢，这猴子百般卖弄自己的敏捷和灵巧，还伸出手爪，接住吴王射向自己的利箭，上下摆弄。吴王见状大怒，一挥手，左右侍从一齐放箭，这猴子难以躲藏，终于中箭，报树而亡。
