Every time I see her I always find that she holds a new style of cell phone. She must have money to burn.
大家需要注意,这个片语往往指由于钱比较多而不珍惜,往往胡乱的花钱,特别是花在一些不必要的地方,看看英文解析就比较清楚了:this idiom refers to someone who has more money than he needs, so that he spends it on unnecessary things.
I think the expensive car is probably not for me, unless I have the money to burn.
the idiom used to say that you feel sure that something will happen.
Tom is very confidant of his success to accomplish his purpose. He tells his workmate that he can put money on it.
After China launched its first manned spaceship successfully, I was sure that Chinese people’s dream to land on the moon would come true soon. I was willing to put money on it.
