Screwball comedy sequel Dumb and Dumber confounded scathing reviews to top the North American box office on its debut in theaters at the weekend, estimated figures showed on Sunday.

Screwball comedy就是“神经喜剧”，又称疯狂喜剧、乖僻喜剧。神经喜剧是一种听觉大于视觉的类型电影，对白密集，而观众也都以欣赏男女主人公唇枪舌剑、机关枪式的对话为乐。

北美票房排名第二的是迪斯尼动画电影Big Hero 6--《超能陆战队》，排名第三的是最近在内地票房夺冠的space epic（外太空巨片）Interstellar--《星际穿越》。
