Ning Zetao of China led all the way to win the 100-meter freestyle at the world swimming championships in a race missing two key competitors.

当晚，宁泽涛凭借最后的强力冲刺（made a strong sprint）和完美的到边技术（the technique of finish touch）力压澳大利亚选手麦克沃伊，后者获得亚军。卫冕奥运冠军（reigning Olympic champion）、美国选手艾德里安获得第七名。
