　1970年Eric Clapton加入Derek and the Dominos，宇宙无敌超级伟大专辑"Layla"出现了！这张专辑特别要请Duane Allman助阵在这张专辑中Clapton彻底倾诉了自己对好友George Harrison（披头四吉他手）之妻Pattie的爱意及畸恋中自己的痛苦。
　旷世钜作"Layla"一曲中，Duane Allman弹奏slide guitar，Clapton嘶喊绝望的歌声，两人对飙solo，到后段气氛一转，钢琴与吉他以优美感伤的旋律收尾。Duane Allman在不久后因车祸去世，使"Layla"更显得珍贵，"Layla"可说是Clapton一生中颠峰之作。
