Many times during my conversations with Chinese friends I've heard the following sentence:"Chinese people are very simple." What they want to say is“中国人很朴实”，but the word "simple" has derogatory sense and actually means“中国人有点傻”.What they should say is "Chinese people are really pure-heartecd/down-to-earth.”
    
我与中国朋友聊天的时候，经常听到这样的句子:“Chinese people are very simple.”他们想说的是：“中国人很朴实。”但是单词“simple”带有贬义，实际上是在说“中国人有点傻”。表达中国人的朴实他们应该说：“Chinese people are really pure-hearted/down-to-earth.”
