The latest edgy design to be derided on social media is a pair of £85 'suspender' mom jeans, which prompted one Twitter user to declare: 'Topshop has fully lost its mind.'

The quirky jeans are effectively shorts, which are hooked to the lower legs with denim 'suspenders', thereby revealing a sizeable glimpse of the wearer's upper thighs.

这条诡异的裤子分成短裤和裤腿，用丹宁材料的带子连接，视觉上就可以看见，在靠近大腿根部的连接处漏出一段肉。

Despite a five star review on the store's website, social media reaction to the quirky jeans suggests most shoppers were less than impressed.

One shopper wrote online: 'I ..don't get it. Who created those and thought 'these are cool[?]'

Other shoppers said Topshop would have been wiser to make them shorts, and leave the lower legs of the trousers off.

But the unusual jeans have garnered one five star review on the Topshop website though, suggesting they've racked up at least one satisfied customer.

Another fan chimed in on Twitter to defend the design.

A user posting under the handle @txllyxflxxr said she didn't understand what everyone was making a 'fuss' about.
