Chinese man gymnast Du Wei got the gold medal on Sunday on men's vault in Cottbus, Germany at the 2007 gym World Cup.

Du was the last to compete but snatched the first place with a score of 16.200.

"I performed well and exerted everything I was trained with," Du told Xinhua before receiving the medal.

"I am happy to be the first, but not very satisfied with the first jump," he added.

Thomas Bouhail from France won the silver at 16.112, while Jeffrey Wammes from the Netherlands harvested the bronze at 16.037
